EDUC 303 - Decolonizing Development: Gender, Power & Education in International Development A study of gender and gender-sensitive policies in international education and development discourse. The emphasis on rights and democracy for women and men from historically disadvantaged groups has not always been accompanied by the transformation of fundamentally unequal and unjust social institutions. This course explores the politics of gender through a cross-cultural lens that draws on theory and practice in Asia, Africa, Latin America, Eastern Europe as well as the industrialized world.
