ENGL 313 - Restoration and 18th-Century Literature and Culture Works of John Dryden, John Milton, Mary Astell, Daniel Defoe, Lady Mary Wortley Montagu, Jonathan Swift, and Alexander Pope analyzed in light of their political, religious, and literary background. Figures from the cultural context of the period - Wren, Handel, Hogarth - are also studied. (Pre-1800 course.)
