HIST 333 - The Medieval Church (EU) Studies the development of the theology, institutions, and practice of Christianity in the medieval West. Topics to be covered include the early Church; the rise of the papacy and monasticism; the relationship of Catholicism with Jews, Muslims, and Orthodox Christians; the challenge of heresy; the Investiture Conflict; and the shaping of doctrine and practice.
