LATN 440 - Vergil’s Eclogues and Georgics Close reading and analysis of selections from Vergil’s two earlier works, the genres to which they belong (bucolic and didactic), and their relationship to his Aeneid. Students focus on questions of genre, the relationship between the poet and his Greek and Roman predecessors, and the thematic and poetic development of the author.
