ARTS 221 - Video Art An introduction to moving image making as the practice of an art form. Students learn not only technical skills in camera, sound, lighting, and basic editing required for video production, but how to engage with the form critically and creatively as they develop their own personal artistic practice. Class time is divided among screenings, discussions, working on video projects, and critique of student work. Attendance at the weekly Alternative Cinema screening is a required and essential element of this course. Equipment is provided by the department.
