ARCH 363 - War and Plunder Studies the destruction, appropriation, reconstruction, and restitution of European art and architectural heritage. Temporal focus on the fifteenth to twentieth centuries with special attention given to the Nazi and Soviet invasion and occupation of Poland during WWII with respect to the fate of cultural heritage. Considers local and international conflict and post-conflict responses.
