ANTH 103 - Introduction to Archaeology Introduces students to the basic concepts and issues of archaeology today through an examination of both method and theory. Topics include data analysis and interpretation, advancements in scientific knowledge, heritage preservation, cultural resource management, and archaeologists’ roles in understanding past and present human societies. Students examine case studies in world prehistory to explore major societal transitions, including population shifts, agriculture, social inequality, and political hierarchies.
