PCON 329 - Environmental Security In what ways might the environment pose a security threat? How is environmental change a danger to some people more than others? What are the implications and consequences of seeing the environment through the lens of “security”? From an interdisciplinary perspective, students critically examine Environmental Security as an ascendant threat-paradigm of the 21st century. Militaries, governments, and international organizations have all become increasingly concerned with the way environmental processes pose threats to security. In many ways, greater concern over these issues is a welcome development. But the way environmental security problems are being framed and addressed might create a whole new set of winners and losers across the globe.
