PHYS 434 - Quantum Mechanics An introduction to the theory and formalism of quantum mechanics, including the bra-ket notation. Develops the linear algebraic formulation using spins, photon and atoms; and covers topics that include time evolution, angular momentum, the harmonic oscillator, the Schrodinger equation, entanglement, and quantum information. A series of laboratories gives students vivid examples of quantum mechanical principles.
