BIOL 480 - Cell Cycle Regulation In a normal eukaryotic cell cycle, the chromosomal DNA and the centrosome of a cell are replicated once, and only once, during S phase to ensure that each daughter cell receives exactly one complement of genomic material and centrosomes. In this research tutorial, students use cellular and molecular techniques to understand the mechanisms underlying this complex phenomenon. Specifically, they investigate mechanisms through which transcription factors regulate genomic stability, normal centrosome duplication, cellular senescence, autophagy, and DNA repair.
