BIOL 489 - Research in Plant Physiological Ecology This research tutorial uses plants to investigate the relationships between internal events (physiology) and external events (ecology) by combining current readings from the primary scientific literature with laboratory and field experiments. Topics include energetics, reproductive strategies, and seed dormancy and germination. The goal is completion of a project suitable for publication in a scientific journal. Students learn how to search literature, critique articles, design experiments, collect and analyze data, and present information in manuscript form to submit for publication.
