ECON 443 - Seminar in Policy Evaluation The goal of this seminar is to explore the role of economic theory and empirical research in designing appropriate public policies and evaluating their effects, through a critical reading of empirical studies and discussions of relevant theories and findings. Topics may include environmental legislation, taxation and redistribution, public health, government regulation, education, public provisions, and crime.
