Sociology Minor

Minor Requirements

The sociology minor requires 5 courses, as described below.

Introductory Course

SOCI 101 - Introduction to Sociology (completed by the end of the sophomore year with a grade of C or better)

One of the Following

Electives

Courses fulfilling this requirement have an attribute of SOEL in the course offerings.

Three additional, full-credit electives
- At least two of these courses must be at the 300-level

Additional Stipulations

The department will accept for minor credit no more than one course taken at another institution and no more than one independent studies course in the department, except in special circumstances as approved by the department chair.

GPA Requirement

A minimum GPA of 2.00 is required in all courses counting toward the minor.
