JAPN 222 - Japan through Literature and Film Introduces major works of Japanese literature from the classical, medieval, and modern periods, including novels, short stories, poetry, and drama. Films spanning genres such as samurai, new wave, and anime illuminate the historical periods and their cultural contexts. No knowledge of Japanese is required.
